The headquarters of Tipico Group and its Maltese entities are in St. Julian’s, Malta. Tipico offers an international work environment: around 460 people from 37 nations now work at HQ.
Completed in 2020, Tipico Tower provides a workplace with ample room for innovation, creativity and team spirit – sports bar, recreation areas, sun terrace and an on-site kindergarten included. From here we make strategic and operational decisions, run our online activities (including CRM), handle customer inquiries and drive technology development. Bookmaking operations and key IT units are also based here, alongside Finance, Legal, People and Compliance.

Axel Hefer was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Tipico Group in July 2024.
Before becoming CEO, Axel served as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the Group’s strategic development and for optimizing structures and processes. He brings extensive experience in scaling dynamic digital businesses in complex environments.
Prior to joining Tipico’s management, he held senior roles at major German tech companies – most recently for many years on the management board at the travel search company trivago, and before that on the board of online furniture retailer Home24. He also gained substantial private-equity experience as Managing Director at One Equity Partners and as Investment Director at Permira. He began his career in the early 2000s as a consultant at McKinsey.
Christian Wurzinger became Chief Financial Officer of Tipico in January 2025.
Christian brings more than 30 years of experience, including the past decade as CFO of internationally active companies. Most recently he served as CFO of King Entertainment, a global leader in gaming. Before that he was CFO at the Klosterfrau Group and the Capri-Sun Group. Christian started his career at Procter & Gamble, where over 20 years he held senior roles including divisional CFO and Director of Strategic Planning & M&A.
